Meetings for (and by) students and early-career researchers
蘑菇传媒 supports meetings that are directly organized and delivered by students and early-career researchers (鈥榖y young scientists for young scientists鈥�). These meetings provide access to talks from key researchers in the molecular life sciences and to a range of activities to support the career progression of young scientists. They also offer an opportunity to develop important skills such as event organizing, and networking with peers and senior researchers. Early-career researchers can present their work at some of these events, to the research community and/or to the public. This allows them to develop their presentation skills and gives them important science communication and outreach experience.
The 蘑菇传媒 Young Scientists鈥� Forum
The 蘑菇传媒 Young Scientists鈥� Forum (YSF) is an event linked to the annual 蘑菇传媒 Congress, for PhD students and postdocs from 蘑菇传媒 Constituent Societies. Selected applicants are supported by 蘑菇传媒 grants. The YSF events include talks from keynote lecturers and from YSF participants, as well as career skills sessions and a social programme. YSF participants also attend the 蘑菇传媒 Congress immediately after the YSF. The YSF events are normally organized by young members of the Society hosting that year’s Congress.
The 蘑菇传媒-IUBMB-ENABLE Conference
The 蘑菇传媒-IUBMB-ENABLE Conference is an international event for PhD students and postdocs, which is hosted at a different research institute each year. Discounted registration and travel grants are available to support attendance from around the world. Each conference is organized and delivered by young researchers at the host institutes, and includes a scientific symposium, a career day, and opportunities for public outreach.
The 蘑菇传媒 Junior Section Talk Series
The 蘑菇传媒 Junior Section is an initiative started by students and young researchers from some of the 蘑菇传媒 Constituent Societies. Their aims are to grow a network of young scientists in the molecular life sciences, collaborate, and increase mobility across Europe and beyond. A current focus is the organization of a series of online talks with key speakers, with each national Junior Section taking turns to plan and deliver an event each month.
At 蘑菇传媒, the above three activities are brought together under the Careers of Young Scientists Committee.
